"I Can Cook, Too" from On the Town

Performed at International Lyric Academy's 2024 Musical Theatre Showcase 2 (dir Amy Toruño)

Performed by Siobhan McNulty and Kyle Widener

Accompanied by David Fiorello

Siobhan's first love is Musical Theatre. She has had the pleasure of performing around the Chicagoland area in an eclectic mix of musicals. Due to her extensive comedic training, Siobhan has played a lot of larger-than-life characters, but she loves finding the humanity and nuance in every role she plays.
Siobhan's skill for healthy timbre manipulation has led her to sing in just about every genre under the sun and she is always up for trying something new.
Siobhan has had wonderful opportunities to perform in her time at North Central College, including being a part of Nathan Dittemore's 2024 production of Heathers the Musical (known on TikTok as the "They made your fries" production) where she played Martha Dunstock. Other favorite NCC roles include Rona Lisa Peretti in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Ensemble (Gabe/Diana Voice Double) in Next to Normal.
Siobhan has also played several roles with other community theatre groups such as Logainne SchwarzandGrubenierre in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee with Curtain Call Theatre in Mokena and Officer Lockstock in Urinetown with Infinity Arts Academy.
In July 2024, Siobhan traveled with the International Lyric Academy and performed in their production of Les Miserables in Vicenza, Italy. Siobhan played the conniving Factory Girl alongside Felipe Bombonato as Jean Val Jean. This production featured a 46-member ensemble cast and 19-piece orchestra, directed by David Fiorello.
Siobhan has gotten extensive musical theatre training from many professionals such as Amy Toruño, Mitzi Smith, Dr. Errik Hood, David Fiorello, David Crawford, Ruth Hennessy, and Alex Lefevre.
Siobhan has a plethora of dream roles, as she wants to not only show off new dimensions to her vocal and acting abilities, but also to bring a new perspective to the many fascinating women (or male roles adapted for a neurodivergent woman, take your pick) of musical theatre. Whether that be trying a new track in a show she is familiar with like Diana and Natalie in Next to Normal or Penelope Pennywise in Urinetown, putting her stamp on iconic roles like The Lady of the Lake in Spamalot, Carrie Pipperidge in Carousel or Christine in The Phantom of the Opera or something unexpected like Judy/Ginger in Ruthless, Meredith in Bat Boy, Wendla in Spring Awakening or The Young Wife in Hello Again, Siobhan would love to make any role her own.
Next up, Siobhan will debut as Sara Jane Moore in North Central College's production of Assassins, directed by Landree Fleming and Music Directed by Ellie Kahn.
